Women in Focus Festival: Make Space || Friday 6 – Sunday 8 March 2020

Women in Focus Festival 2020 is here!

In 2018 we said time’s up. In 2019 we said girls to the front. Now it’s 2020 and we’re making space!

Poplar Union is proud to announce the return of Women in Focus Festival.

This year we’re #MakingSpace! We’re giving a platform to unheard and ignored voices; we’re sticking your elbows out and taking the space all women, trans-women and female identifying people deserve, from the board room to the classroom to the arm rest on the central line!

Running across the 6, 7 & 8 March, Poplar Union invites people of all genders, ages and backgrounds to come and celebrate International Women’s Day with us!  This year we have partnered with local artists, makers and facilitators from our local community to entertain, educate and inspire participants to make change in their own communities and to empower and platform women and girls. You’ll be spoilt for choice with events, ranging from feminist slogan calligraphy, radical Japanese cabaret, LGBTQ+ dance classes, and British Asian performance poetry, to name just a few!

And as making space leaves no room for barriers, Women in Focus is FREE to attend!
