About the Artist
My name is Luba, and I am 36 years old. I am Ukrainian, a refugee from the war that shattered my world. On February 24, 2022, our lives were upended by conflict. We fled the occupation, the bombings, and the air raids, and found a temporary home here in London.

Two years ago, I encountered the most broken version of myself—but also the strongest. Now, I am ready to share my journey through an exhibition that weaves together art and storytelling to celebrate the incredible strength and resilience of refugees and war survivors.

FRAGILE: A Journey of Resilience is a month-long exhibition where art meets storytelling to show the remarkable resilience of refugees.

For more than two years, I have lived a double life. One life now exists only in memory, filled with the warmth of home, the embrace of my motherland, the freedom to work, travel, and dream, and the comfort of safety and certainty.

My other life is my present reality, a stark contrast to my past. This new existence challenges me every day, yet it is also where I discover resilience and the hope to rebuild amidst the uncertainty. Through this exhibition, I hope to convey the profound journey of navigating these two worlds, honoring the strength and hope that sustain us.
