Winter Festival – An all day of events to celebrate Christmas

To celebrate the winter season we invite you to join us for a whole variety of activities. All ticket holders will be entered into a raffle to win a FREE hot chocolate on the day!

11.30am – 1.00pm
Treasure trail tea party with Jo Green (1-4 yr olds and parent/carer)
Join us on a treasure trail at Poplar Union! Use the picture clues to find the party treasure to have our own festive tea party!

12.00pm – 1.30pm
Create your own adventure with Nicole White (all ages)
Blending art, drama and storytelling we’ll create a world, explore it through playful activities and create stories collaboratively.

Storyteller Nicole White weaving wintery tales; her original story ‘Beat of the Earth’ is about a bird in search of their voice; with singing and audience participation. There will also be a Selkie myth which goes into the depths of winter, exploring longing, grief and returning home.

2:00pm – 3.00pm
Family Yoga Sound Journey with Malou and James (all ages)
Learn some simple yoga poses together and experience the benefits, while before enjoying a Tibetan Singing Bowl Sound Bath.

1.30pm – 2.00pm and 3.00pm – 3.30pm
Juggling Workshop with Oliver Presman (10+)
Learn to juggle like a pro in our workshop! Perfect for all levels. Unleash your inner performer with Oliver’s skilled guidance.

3.30pm – 5.00pm
Cockney Singalong with Adina Presman (all ages)
Cockney singalong, everyone welcome. Booking required.

3.30pm – 6.00pm
Wrapping Paper Making with Maud (all ages)
Join our creative and sustainable workshop and learn how to beautifully wrap your gift with fabric.

5.00pm – 7.30pm
Festive Card Making with Keren (all ages)
Festive collage card making with Keren McConnell. Working with upcycled materials, create unique seasonal cards.

5.00pm  -7.30pm
Craft Café with Rowha (all ages)
Embrace winter at our cosy craft cafe. Gather, chat, and create seasonal treasures, together.

5.30pm – 8.00pm
Klezmer Jam (all ages) 
The London KlezJammers and friends will be jamming traditional Eastern European Jewish folk music. You’re welcome to join as a singer, player, dancer or listener. You can also join a craft activity while this is happening and continue to listen.

8.00pm – 8.45pm
Storytelling with Nicole White (for adults, children welcome)
Join us for a cozy evening of enchanting stories and warm beverages. Experience the magic of storytelling with a cup in hand.
We’ll also have food, drink and music playing throughout the day and evening.

8.30pm – 9.30pm
Centre Stage Open Mic (all ages) 
Centre Stage Collective offers a special set of contemporary performances from two of their artists.

Walk-ins will be possible but subject to availability.

There will be a food offer in the Library from 2.30 pm from Nana, a local food vendor, who will be fundraising at the event.

Free tasting of food available. Cash is preferred for fundraising purposes, however card payments are also accepted!


Donations

We are asking for donations to support these events to keep happening. They are possible thanks to previous fundraising efforts. Please just donate what you can within your means, we would rather see you there than let cost be a barrier.
So help us to fill our community arts venue with joy and togetherness through singalongs, juggling, crafts, arts and yoga. See our tickets to sign up for the specific workshops.
