IRIE! Dance Theatre presents: Connecting Vibes
IRIE! Dance Theatre take over Poplar Union for three days of dance performances and workshops!
Performance
Connecting Vibes present traditional African dance accompanied by live drumming with the Caribbean language celebrated by Beverley Glean, MBE, Artistic Director of IRIE! dance theatre in ‘Breeze Easy’, whilst Flawless member, Leroy Dias Dos Santos, blends Hip Hop and contemporary to create a unique language for ‘Moi’ and ’Vibes’.
FUBUNATION artists in residence at IRIE! dance theatre work from their base of contact improvisation with influences of African and Hip Hop to collaboratively present work with a sense of theatre. Weaving their thoughts into the soundtrack, ‘Small Acts of Bravery’ created by the company captures the uncertainty of our times.
Dance workshop
On Saturday, the company will be running a masterclass in dance fusion featuring a fusion of Caribbean and Urban styles accompanied by live drumming including a warm-up and sequences. All levels welcome.
