Grassroots Violin Lessons (children’s class)
Please note that this is a subsidised programme for children from low income families and from minority communities. You will first need to register on our system with valid proof (eg. UC letter, Social Prescriber or GP referral letter).
Come for a fun and interactive children’s violin class at Poplar Union! Designed for beginners ONLY. This event is perfect for children who have difficulties accessing affordable music classes and are looking to learn or improve their skills.
Our talented instructor Charlotte will guide you through the basics and help you develop your technique. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn in a friendly and supportive environment. Grab a violin (provided for the class) and let’s make some beautiful music together! Priority will be given to children from low income families and from minority communities. For ages 5 years to 11 years.
Charlotte Rutherfoord is a professional violinist and experienced violin teacher. She trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts (BAHons) integrating music into performance. She teaches regularly in a school setting and as a facilitator for group violin lessons around London. She is experienced in supporting her students excel in their ABRSM graded exams, curating concerts and facilitating groups with varying musical ability. Her priority is making the violin learning experience engaging and enjoyable whilst teaching the fundamentals of musical knowledge and sight reading that is applicable to any other instrument, choir or orchestra the children may go on to enjoy.
