Cabrolé! Workshops with Eric Longa Company

This October we bring you the Cabrolé! project, a series of four Flamenco workshops by Eric Longa Company.

Flamenco was born in late 1800s Spain from a desire of marginalised and migrant communities to bring people together and to create a new communal language to express themselves. Embedded in the bodies, gestures, lyrics and music of flamenco is a mix of people and their histories from India, Central America, the continent of Africa, Eastern Europe and the Andalucian Roma community. The name Cabrolé comes from the Spanish word ‘cabra’ for goat and the famous ‘olé’ meaning bravo. Goats are known for their rebellious souls and olé is used to show your appreciation. ‘Cabrolé’ is a call to rebellion, on stage, and in glitter!

Flamenco & Clowning

Flamenco Aerobics for 60+

Aerobics class with a flamenco twist for all levels. No high kicks required — just a touch of sass and the desire to move.

Flamenco Rumbas
Thu 23 October | 18+ | £12 (£8 concession)
7pm–8pm

In this workshop, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of Flamenco Catalan Rumba, with a focus on technique, rhythm, and expression.

Flamenco & Duende mask-making
for Children & Families

Intro to flamenco & what’s the concept of ‘Duende.’ ‘Duende’ Mask Making session using collage technique Learning of Flamenco movements.

Eric Longa is a UK based multidisciplinary performance company with origins in movement, dedicated to exploring identity and fostering artistic and social dialogue through Spanish cultural heritage, professional development, and community engagement. Eric Longa was founded by Spanish artist Patricia Langa, and it also encompasses all her work as a performer, choreographer, and movement director.
