Cabrolé! Course: Two-day Pro Artist Course with a Flamenco Twist


As part of the Cabrolé project created by Eric Longa Company, we are bringing you a unique two-day course with a flamenco twist for professional artists from any discipline who are curious to explore flamenco culture from multiple perspectives. This is an opportunity to experience flamenco first-hand, discover its power, and let it inspire your own artistic growth. Come ready to move, write, reflect, create, and immerse yourself in the raw, powerful spirit of flamenco!
There are only 16 places available and we aim to allocate 50% to artists from Global Majority backgrounds, disabled, neurodivergent, Queer/Trans+ people, people aged 50+, or artists from working-class backgrounds.
- Flamenco Dance Basics with Carlos Otero (2.5h)
- Queer Flamenco History Context with Fernando López writer of a Flamenco Queer History (35min)
- Queer Flamenco: Physical Exploration with Patricia Langa (2.5h)
- Creative Poetry Workshop inspired by Federico García Lorca’s queer poetry with Antonio Psaila(2.5h)
- Flamenco History & ‘Duende’ Exploration (writing & movement) with Antonio Psaila, IreneGiménez & Patricia Langa (1h)
- Duende’ Exploration through Craft with Patricia Langa (45 min) – the outcome will be exposed in the foyer of the Southbank Centre on the 6th & 7th of November.
- Flamenco, Community & Connection: discussions & movement with Irene Giménez (1h)
- Closing reflections at the end of Day 2
Eric Longa is a UK based multidisciplinary performance company with origins in movement, dedicated to exploring identity and fostering artistic and social dialogue through Spanish cultural heritage, professional development, and community engagement. Eric Longa was founded by Spanish artist Patricia Langa, and it also encompasses all her work as a performer, choreographer, and movement director.
