About Akshay

Akshay Bhoan is an Indian artist based between London and New Delhi. His work is focused on the intimate study of violence and memory through social politics, personal experience, and culture.

Bhoan’s work is primarily enriched by documentary photography that engages with personal narratives, archival material, sound, and his own written texts. He graduated from the International Centre Of Photography in 2015 and has exhibited around the world including in New York (Photoville, ICP Museum, Mana Contemporary), New Delhi (Delhi Photo Festival, Tasveer Arts), Colombia (Short Gallery Bogata), and Denmark (Municipal Welcome House). Bhoan is currently pursuing his MFA at Slade, UCL London.
