Poplar Picnic: A Summer Celebration of Community

Every August, Poplar Union throws open its green spaces for Poplar Picnic—our annual free event celebrating community, creativity, and connection.

Held in Bartlett Park, right outside Poplar Union, the day is packed with live music, arts activities, games,  community talentshow, and plenty of space to unwind. Whether you’re bringing toddlers, teens, or just a good book, there’s something for everyone.

This year’s picnic is extra special: it runs alongside the Cotall Street Market—a vibrant new addition just steps away, featuring local food vendors, handmade crafts, and community traders. Together, they form a joyful space where culture, creativity, and local pride meet. On the same day

Poplar Picnic isn’t a festival in the corporate sense—it’s grassroots, handmade, and deeply local. A chance to slow down, meet your neighbours, try something new, and celebrate what makes Poplar unique.

Expect:
• Live performances
• Creative workshops
• Picnic spaces + free games
• Cotall Street Market
• Community vibes

Join us this Saturday August 9th. Everyone’s welcome—whether you live nearby or you’re just passing through. Come for the food, stay for the feeling. See you there!
