South Asian Rhythm Course Performance

A meet-up, performance and sharing from the students of Poplar Union’s online South Asian Music workshop, including a special performance from Yousuf Ali Khan and Sitar.

What to expect

Students have been meeting up every Wednesday via Zoom for the last 10 weeks learning and discovering South Asian Rhythm in depth with maestro Tabla player, Yousuf Ali Khan. This course has supported the learning of rhythms from South Asia, from styles and philosophies, to different genres, rhythmic language and phrasing. Now with restrictions easing, the students come together to share some of their learnings at Poplar Union for family and friends.
