Sea Girl
by Carbon Theatre
Sea Girl is an online adventure story about sailing around the world. Join Ellen and Naomi as they imagine their journey, and help them decide where they go and what they do.
What to expect
Help Ellen, Naomi and Tarzoon, the cat, decide whether to meet turtles, explore the Caribbean or follow dolphins.
This interactive, multi-sensory experience is inspired by the extraordinary achievements of Laura Dekker, the youngest person to have solo travelled across the world in a sailing boat. She was just 14 when she set off and 16 when she completed her trip. We wanted to create a piece of theatre that celebrated this magnificent adventure, and show how the determination of one girl changed the world!
This performance is accessible to disabled children and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The nature of the story means we are able to communicate parts of the story through sights, smells, sounds and textures – perfect for children who best experience and learn through different senses. The interactive experience comes with sensory activities for all the family to enjoy together.
Sea Girl was created with ages 5-8 in mind, but it can also be enjoyed by younger children – with a little help from the family.
Sea Girl is available from Thursday 31 March – 30 April, 2022. It’s suitable for ages 3+ and is free to watch. Just click ‘BOOK HERE’ below to book your free digital tickets!
