Outdoor Art Class
As the days grow warmer and lighter, we’ll be taking our art class into the great outdoors where participants can learn new ways of painting, drawing and mark-making inspired by the unique Poplar landscape.
What to expect
Whether you’re a seasoned painter or just looking to try something new, this friendly and creative group is the perfect fit! Be inspired by the scenery around you; the green views of Bartlett Park and the drama of Canary Wharf and learn new skills in drawing and painting.
Each week, participants will meet at Poplar Union before walking together to a different outdoor location, local to Poplar Union where artist, Paolo Fiorentini, will guide participants through a variety of new skills and techniques, including landscape painting and still life inspired by the unique Poplar landscape.
This class is open to anyone with any experience and participants are welcome to attend for as much time as they choose- be it the full two hours, or as a creative lunch-break when working from home.
Each weekly location will be shared in a Whatsapp group so you can find your fellow artists if you start after 1pm. You will be asked if you’d like to join this group at your first session.
This event is capped at 12 people per week.
All participants will receive an art pack in their first session which is included in the ticket price of £5. You will be responsible for bringing this pack to each session. This reduces the need to share equipment in line with Covid-secure protocol.
If you’d like to attend consecutive weeks, you can now book 6 weeks by selecting the 20 April or 1 June £20 ticket. This includes your art pack.
Paolo is our very own Creative Director. Paolo studied for a Fine Art degree in Italy, and later for a second degree in literature. He is a Visual Artist who works primarily with felt, wool and intricate lines drawings. See his work here.
