Live in the Library: Jaka Škapin & Friends
Join Jaka Škapin and his closest vocal artist collaborators in an evening of collaborative vocal improvisation for a special Live in the Library session. Featuring Guillermo Rozenthuler, Kate Smith, Marcia Willis, Sylvia Schmidt and Uran Apak.
This performance will be live from inside Poplar Union for an outdoor live audience. No need to book, just come with a blanket to sit on and a beverage of your choice if you’re in the area!
Friday 14 May | Jaka Škapin & Friends | Live at Poplar Union
Weather permitting, we are inviting you to sit or stand outside of Betty (Poplar Union’s performance space), on the edge of Bartlett Park, and witness the improvised music and song that will be shared with you from the inside, through open windows, minds and hearts of exquisite singers and storytellers.
Following the success of Singing Out, Singing In, Singing Up; an online discussion on Collaborative Vocal Improvisation we organised as part of Poplar Union’s Digital Arts Festival (which you can still listen here), we are thrilled to be able to return in person and share an evening of exploration and connection with a live audience. The evening will feature a solo looper set by Jaka, presentation of a brand new project named Anthropos: Songs of Humanity, as well as a live deep-dive into Remembering.
