An eclectic evening of music, poetry, and talks exploring mental health, made by people who have first hand experience of the challenges that come with it.

The Channel One Band

The Channel One Band play an entertaining blend of self penned songs and good-time tunes from reggae’s classic period.

The band actively campaign on mental health issues and played live on Radio London as part of a two hour drivetime show on a mental health theme, broadcast from Sound Minds. Drummer and singer Devon Marston has also appeared on BBC2’s Newsnight, Radio 4’s Today, Radio Five Live, and Channel Four News.

Keyboard player Amy Daniel is a renowned steel pan player and in 2013 collaborated with artist Jeremy Dellar on a work for the Venice Biennalle, arranging a version of David Bowie’s ‘The Man who Sold the World’ for steel pans.

The band are winners of a Community Care’s award for mental health, recognising the value of songwriting, music, anti stigma workshops provided to inner city schools.
