About Sunny Jar Eco Hub

The Sunny Jar Eco Hub is a local social enterprise which aims to empower the residents of Tower Hamlets by sharing knowledge and tools to live sustainably, making environmentally conscious living accessible and affordable to everyone.

The Sunny Jar Eco Hub was conceived by three local residents: Priscilla, Maud and Linda. With the growing problem of plastic in our oceans and streets, we want to encourage others to live more thoughtfully and make a positive contribution to our local area and the environment.

The Sunny Jar represents a number of things. ‘Sunny’ because we want to create a bright, happy and optimistic place for people to connect. The ‘Jar’ embodies the concepts of recycling, reusing, crafting and resilience- in contrast to the throwaway lifestyle.

The Sunny Jar Mission

• Connect local eco-initiatives, with the aim to be the go-to hub for eco-living topics in the community.

• Hold sustainable living workshops and education sessions throughout the borough, encouraging the sharing of skills and social connections, as well as promoting
environmental issues and how to save money through low-impact living.

• Develop a bulk buying group for local residents, making dry whole foods and ethical cleaning products more accessible and affordable with less plastic packaging.

• Start a “Library of Things”, allowing local residents to borrow rarely used items and promote a sharing economy with greater community connections.

The Sunny Jar Eco Hub need to rally as many people as they can to join their new venture that could change how we all think and live. If you’d like to find out more, follow them on Facebook and Instagram for regular updates.
