What to expect

• Planting and propagating air filtering plants workshop, indoor gardening tips and a plants swap.

• Mending workshop where you will be shown the art of darning, bring something with a hole that needs fixing.

• Betsy’s Closet Clothes Swap (£3 contribution)

Clothes Swap Guidelines

Exchange up to 5 preloved garms you no longer wear for some new-to-you gems. What NOT to bring: shoes, jewellery, bathrobes, pyjamas or night wear, tights/plain leggings, underwear, lingerie, slippers, socks, stockings. No badly stained, shrunk, bobbly or ruined items. Check seams, hems, buttons, zips; scan for rips, tears, loose sequins or beading, etc. Wash all items for hygienic reason and as a courtesy to your fellow swapper. Items that fail to meet these standards will not be accepted.

If something you brought to the swap didn’t pass the quality check, you can dispose of it by placing it in one of our 4 bins:
1) minor repair – if something you no longer want needs a bit of tlc
2) major repair – for upcycling projects
3) repurpose – for other non-fashion related use of textiles
4) recycle – nothing to landfill with our recycling boxes

Got nothing to swap? No problem, you can purchase tokens* and support us with your donations – *max 10 pp”

Sunny Jar Eco Hub needs your help to achieve their vision

We are currently run on an entirely voluntary basis and need support to help make our mission a reality. All funds raised at the event will go towards our community projects, which include community events such as this one, Create a Borrow a Bag scheme on Roman Rd, school workshops and establishing our Eco Hub in East London.

Sunny Jar Eco Hub Mission

Sunny Jar Eco Hub is a social enterprise with a mission to reduce people’s waste by making low waste living easy and accessible for all.

We run low waste living workshops around London, with a focus on craft, DIY and upcycling. Our ethos is to reduce the waste we produce and live more sustainably with less plastic. We want Londoners to rethink how they shop, reuse what they’ve got and upcycle.

We also help deliver community projects, raising awareness on the impact of plastics and waste in our environment.

Our Eco Hub plans include a bulk buying group, a Library of Things and a community space, where people can share ideas and initiatives on eco-friendly living. We also need people power, so if you’re not able to donate funds, please let us know if you’d like to volunteer and help us deliver our mission!
