Silver Scripts – Over 50s Writing Workshop
Always fancied yourself as the next Alan Bennett, Suzan Lori-Parks or maybe even Billy the Bard himself? Well, now’s the time to release your inner playwright at Silver Scripts, a three-part script reading and writing workshop for mature participants looking to have a go at writing in a relaxed and sociable environment.
About the Workshop
The first session will include a group reading of several short play texts, with plenty of time to discuss and debate the themes and techniques of each text. Building on this discussion, participants will then write their own script over the following two sessions, with time at the end to present a reading of the finished work for friends and family.
The workshops will be lead by theatre maker and director Hester Welch.
Hester is an emerging artist with a passion for community, play and the environment. She creates performances in non-traditional performance spaces with an emphasis on visual and physical storytelling. This has led her to work in diverse communities and cultures, which continue to inspire her work.
She is an Artistic Associate and Trainer with the world-renowned David Glass Ensemble as well as Omnibus Theatre. She has been fortunate enough to have worked in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy and UK this year with the Ensemble.
Hester trained at Goldsmiths, University of London where she focused on Theatre Making, Applied Theatre and Post-Colonial Theatre.
