Saudha presents: Melodies from Tagore – Love & Loneliness

Saudha – ‘one of the prominent Indian classical music promoters in the country‘ (BBC Radio) – offers a ‘hypnotic‘ (Fringe Review) and ‘breath-taking’ (Rhapsody of Soul, Guardian) presentation of Indian classical music. Spend an evening with the mystic melodies of the East’s first Nobel Laureate in Literature, Rabindranath Tagore, discovering his unique post-modern and philosophical redefinition of both love and loneliness.

The evening will showcase a solo recital of Tagore’s compositions by one of the finest Tagore vocalists and exponents, Dr Imtiaz Ahmed, accompanied by vocalist Eric Schleander, esraj player Tirthankar Roy, tabla player Yousuf Ali Khan, saxophonist George Sleightholme, violinist Alice Baron and keyboardist Amith Dey, offering their own musical interpretation of Tagore’s work.
