Funny, frank and authentic, Muvvahood is a one woman show, created from the voices of real single mothers living in London today.

In the UK, 1 in 4 families are headed by a single parent. That’s 2 million single parents in the UK alone. 91% of single parents are mothers

But what is a single mother actually like? We all know the stereotype: a teenager wearing a tracksuit, smoking a fag, pushing a buggy, on her way to Lidl with her ASBO children that live off cheesy chips (and the taxpayer) and must be rescued by Jamie Oliver.

Part stand up, part TED talk and part verbatim, Libby Liburd explores exactly what is our problem with single mothers?

*Please note, this will be a relaxed performance so babies and young children are welcome to attend. Free crèche facilities will also be available on site. Please call 020 3039 3333 or email info@poplarunion.com to book your child into the crèche (for ages 3+, under 3s can come into the performance). Limited spaces available.
