Poplar Union is proud to be one of the hosts for the Baul and Vaishnav Music Festival 2018!

Organised by RadhaRaman Society, this festival brings two powerful genres of world music, Baul and Vaishnav, for avid Western audiences.  The festival, returning to London for its fourth year, features performances of Bengali Baul & Vaishnav music by a number of Baul and Vaishnav groups and prominent performers, followed by short film screenings and discussion.

These two major Indian philosophical and cultural movements from both Hindu and Muslim (Sufi) faiths have shaken the music, literature and art of this region.

The festival continues at Rich Mix on the 29 April, the Nehru Centre on the 4 May, and Kobi Nazrul Centre in East London on the 5 May.
